Thanksgiving Baskets 2022
Our tradition continues! New Hempstead Presbyterian Church has a long history of donating “Thanksgiving Baskets” to local families in need. Be sure to bring your non-perishable food items (see list below) to church by Sunday, November 13th. Bring in perishable items (turkey and loaf of bread) on Sunday, November 20th (or contact us to make other delivery arrangements).
You can also sponsor a basket, and we’ll do the shopping for you–a full basket costs $45, but any amount donated will be appreciated. Be sure to indicate “Thanksgiving Basket” on your check. Baskets will be distributed to local families in need via the Martin Luther King Center in Spring Valley, and Smarty Pants Day Care. Contact Mark Zacheis if you know of a family in need, so we can be sure to have a basket for them, as well.
Due to anticipated supply chain issues again this year, we are recommending that you shop early to make sure you can get a turkey (keep it in your freezer at home until Nov. 20th, please!). Also, if you want us to do the shopping for you, let us know ASAP, so we can shop early as well.
