Who would have thought that we would experience a Holy Week like this one? During the highest Holy Days of the Christian Year, we cannot worship together in the traditional sense. But, as I hope you discovered on Palm Sunday, the Worship of God still goes on. The Palm Sunday Presbytery-wide service was wonderful Rev. Casey Carbone, pastor at Mahopac Presbyterian Church edited videos from over one third of the churches of in our presbytery into 4 worship services for Holy Week.
If you watched yesterday, you saw Lois Anderson playing the prelude, our wonderful choir in a recording of last year’s “Ain’t no Rock Gonna Shout For Me,” and me praying a prayer for illumination before Scripture was read. You also saw chickens, and a dog! (All God’s creatures praise the Lord!) I was surprised at how connected I felt sitting in my “prayer chair” in the manse and worshiping with my sisters and brothers. I think you wan still watch it if you missed it. Our Communications and Media Committee chair, Bob Philhower
The schedule for the rest of the holy week services is on our website, and is also on the church’s Facebook page. I think Bob Philhower sent the links in a e-mail.
If you are on Facebook, make sure we are “friended”. I am posting a very brief reading every day to remind us that we are all connected to one another, and that God has been with us, is still with us, and will never leave us. May you feel that presence in our own lives at this holy time of year.
