Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
We know that our God is good and faithful—all the time. We also are all aware of the potential dangers posed by the novel corona virus-19. In the interest of the health of the congregation, and the communities we live in, the Session of New Hempstead Presbyterian Church decided in a called meeting last night, March 12, 2020, that our worship would be on-line only starting this Sunday, March 15, 2020.
This decision was not made lightly. We prayed, and we called to mind the many in our congregation who are in at-risk categories for this disease: older folks; those who have underlying health conditions such as diabetes, hypertension; cancer survivors, and others who are immune-compromised.
Coffee Hour and Holy Communion will be suspended until further notice. The Session will meet again next Thursday to decide further steps. As this virus continues to spread, we have an obligation to look out for the well-being not only of ourselves and our families, but also the health of the surrounding community. We covenant to keep you informed of updates as they occur.
It is the hope and prayer of the pastor and session that you will join in “virtual worship” of God at 11:00AM Sunday, on our YouTube channel, New Hempstead Presbyterian Church.

God is our refuge and strength,
a very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change,
though the mountains shake in the heart of the sea;
though its waters roar and foam,
though the mountains tremble with its tumult.
Psalm 46: 1-3
