Mission

When we welcome and serve others, we welcome and serve Christ; when we bring together people who are divided, we are doing God’s reconciling work.
New Hempstead Presbyterian Church has joined the “Matthew 25 Movement” of the Presbyterian Church USA. In answering the call of Matthew 25: 31-46, we commit to working for the well-being of the most vulnerable in our local communities and in the world. We give our time and talents to local needs: alleviating hunger, caring for the homeless, and providing for special needs of community children. We also contribute to four major giving campaigns each year, to help expand global outreach of the PC(USA), uplift the neediest in our denomination, and respond to humanitarian crises at home and abroad.

We are proud to support and partner with many local organizations:
- Martin Luther King Multi-Purpose Center, Spring Valley
- Soup Angels, Nyack
- People to People, Nanuet
- Summit Park Elementary School, New Hempstead
- Rockland Pride Center, Nyack
- Salvation Army, Spring Valley

In addition, we annually provide dozens of Thanksgiving food baskets to needy local families, do a neighborhood cleanup each spring in conjunction with Keep Rockland Beautiful, and provide community space for non-profit and community-based organizations in our Murchison Hall facility, including multiple 12-step programs, a daycare center, senior center, Meals on Wheels, Habitat for Humanity, and two separate churches.
