Solidarity Walk, August 6, for peace and justice for communities of color

In Spring Valley on Saturday, August 6, starting at 10:30 AM, there will be a solidarity walk for peace and justice for communities of color. People of all faiths, cultures and ages who wish to strengthen the fight against injustice for people of color and contribute to creating a more peaceful world are invited. Organizations and individuals are invited to carry signs that promote a message of justice and love.

This will be a silent, reflective walk for peace. After a short welcome, we will walk in silence from First Baptist Church to Memorial Park for about 20 minutes where the event will end with a brief ceremony. The walk is approximately one-half mile. Refreshments will be served at Memorial Park and community members & leaders will speak from 11:30 until 12 noon.

Meet by 10:30 AM at the First Baptist Church, 3 Hoyt Street, Spring Valley.

This is a project of the Fellowship of Reconciliation. More information at jsuarez@forusa.org.
