Update: a second vigil has been scheduled in Nyack for Thursday.
The Village of Nyack in collaboration with the Rockland County Pride Center will hold a candlelight vigil at 6 p.m. June 16. Meet at Nyack’s Village Hall and walk in solidarity with our LGBTQ brothers and sisters to Veteran’s Park where we will honor the lives of our lost family.
Rockland County Executive Ed Day announced that the county will hold a candlelight vigil at 5 PM, Wednesday to honor the memory of those killed in the Orlando nightclub massacre. The vigil will be held on the lawn of the Rockland County Courthouse, One South Main St. in New City. The vigil is being organized by Rockland Commissioner of Human Rights Penny Jennings. It will include members of Rockland’s faith communities as well as representatives of LGBT groups.
