Out of the 320,000 Rockland residents, an estimated 30,000 face food insecurity, which means they do not always know from where their next meal is coming. The People-to-People food pantry is equipped to handle about half of this volume. The problem is especially acute in the summer months, when children are out of school. Children who take advantage of the free or reduced-rate breakfast and lunch programs in the schools are not able to participate in the summer. There is a great need for breakfast and lunch foods such as peanut butter & jelly, Spaghetti-O’s, canned pasta, Ramen noodles, Jell-O, pudding and fruit cups, canned tuna and canned fruit. Please give generously and leave your donations in the narthex.
